Let's Combine Azure Sphere And TR-069 to Secure the Connected Home

According to Cisco, there will be 29.3 billion networked devices on the internet by 2023 of this amount Machine-To-Machine (M2M) connections will be 14.7 billion, that’s 50 percent share.  Families having their baby monitors hacked is a constant news item.  We need solutions that can make the connected home a more secure environment. Then after hearing about Microsoft’s recent general availability of Azure Sphere and knowing that we already have TR-069; I am thinking why not use the best of both to fix this problem.

Tilgin And Zhone Collaborated On Connected Home Solution

Tilgin has collaborated with Zhone Technologies to integrate its TR-069 management suite, tGem, with Zhone's indoor GPON ONT products. Tilgin TR-069 Auto Configuration Server (ACS), tGem, and Zhone's indoor GPON ONT family have successfully completed interoperability testing. The solution provides operators with a robust plug-n-play triple play network management solution.

Broadband Forum and UNH-IOL Issue First Set of BBF-069 Certificates

The Broadband Forum and the University of New Hampshire-InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL) have issueed their first set of BBF-069 Certificates to Broadcom, Cisco, D-Link, Huawei and Lantiq. The certificate signifies that the device is TR-069 protocol compliant, which means it can be remotely manage. With TR-069 devices service providers have a easier job of managing remote base devices, removing the need to send out service engineers for common faults.

UNH-IOL Setup Home Networking Consortium For TR-069 and IPv6 Testing

The UNH-IOL (University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory) has setup a new home networking consortium, which is to act as a one stop shop for broadband forum TR-069 and IPv6 testing.  UNH-IOL said manufacturers of CPE (customer premise equipment) can have their devices tested for IPv6 CPE Ready Logo and compliance to the TR-069 protocol.  The UNH-IOL has been named the world’s only official laboratory for all Broadband Forum TR-069 testing and is the only approved laboratory for IPv6 CPE Ready Logo testing in North America.

Affinegy Adds Sagemcom’s TR-069 ACS To Portal Platform

Affinegy has made a strategic move to acquire the Sagemcom’s TR-069 ACS (Auto Configuration Servers) Solutions Business. According to Affinegy the acquisition has allowed it to expand its product range with Sagemcom’s TR-069 ACS Subscriber Manager and FrontLine, which are now part of Affinegy’s Portal Platform. They have also gained more customers in Europe, Asia, Central/South America Africa and Japan.
