Amazon has been selling home automation products for a long time now but they have now officially launched their own home automation shop. Now many of the off the shelves products we have written about here, are now available for the Amazon website in one convenient location. According to them, the new storefront contains more than a thousand different products, such as smart lighting solutions, energy management home monitoring and security, temperature control, and even entertainment systems.
Amazon which started selling just books has widen its product categories over recent years and with the global home automation market expecting to worth over US$16 Billion over the next six years, According to Transparency. This seems like a good time for them to have their own Home Automation Store. According to ABI Research, US homes installed over 1.5 million home automation systems last year alone, they are predicting this amount to grow to 8 million by 2017.
Some of the hottest products in the news this year, such as Belkin WeMo , Nest Learning Thermostat, Sonos and Dropcam can be found on their website. You won’t find the high-end solutions on the website it more geared toward those who want a DIY solution before the make a bigger investment.
