CEDIA Accredits Power Ethernet Certificate
The growing popularity of powerline communication in home entertainment and home automation has prompted the CEDIA to launch its first powerline networking accreditation. Developed in partnership the powerline networking manufacturer, Power Ethernet, the course allows custom installers to receive certification in the technology. Installers will gain the knowledge and practical skills needed to specify and install poweline Ethernet networks as an alternative or complement to existing home networks.
The course is title “The Future of Home Technology” and starts this month, 12 November at the CEDIA HQ in St Neots. Power Ethernet said each candidate will get a Power Ethernet Evaluation Pack*, which include two Power Ethernet Sockets at a reduce price of £99 plus an installer support pack that will allow the installer to demonstrate the product to customers.
The course will cover a range of applications including home theatre, multi-room audio distribution, digital signage, CCTV and home automation. Continuing Education units gain in this course will count towards the installers CEDIA certification. Other dates for the course are 15 and 16 November, each running for 3.5 hours.
