Pace Acquired Bewan to Grow Converged Digital TV Solutions
Pace announced that they are to acquire Bewan Systems, a specialist in xDSL and cable DOCSIS 3.0 IP connectivity technologies. According to Pace the deal will not exceed €12.5 million, and is expected to complete the deal in the second quarter of this year. With this deal Pace is hoping to grow its position in the connected home market place by tapping into Bewan already established relationship with customers in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
With forecast growth in consumer spending on digital home technology such as set-top box and home gateways, and consumer more readily open to the concept of the connected home. Pace will combine Bewan digital home systems with Pace existing gateway business, enabling Pace to offer converged gateway and Digital TV solutions to PayTV customers.
