Siemens Offers Cloud Meter Reading Services, eMeter EnergyIP

Utilities wanting to setup their own Automatic Meter Reading solution (AMR) can save themselves he cost, time and hassle it will take.  eMeter a Siemens subsidiary has launched a cloud base subscription service through their energy platform for this same purpose.  The manage service is ideal for small to mid-size utilities wanting a platform that will support the flexibility of the modern grid.

The new offering is especially beneficial to small and mid-size utilities because as they will not need to buy or maintain the software and hardware for data storage, or hire IT experts to run the application, thus creating a low risk, high reward mechanism for entry.
