SoftAtHome Launched Digital Lifestyle Solution, CloudAtHome

SoftAtHome has joined the band of solution venders offering a cloud platform. At this year’s IBC show SoftAtHome launched the CloudAtHome solution for operators and service providers.  The new SOP based solution allows service providers to support consumer change in digital lifestyle.  At the core is the flexibility that allows users to access content on which ever of the three screens (mobile, TV and PC) they choose.

Developed on the SoftAtHome Operating Platform (SOP), it allows users to access their digital content from anyhwere.  Operators can combine services such as voice, security, network access, video, user interface, connectivity or management, and deploy them in a multi-screen environment including TVs, tablets and mobile devices.

CloudAtHome comes with a new unified user experience.  It provides Operators with an easy-to-deploy solution on both managed and retail devices that make it simpler for subscribers to access and control content distributed between the home devices and the cloud.

According to SoftAtHome, SOP contains all the features and APIs necessary to create innovative and convergent applications.  All its services are exposed as Web Services and can be accessed by any device running HTML5.  SOP is already available on different types of devices including, Set-top Box, Home Gateway, Network Attach Storage (NAS) and Connected TV.

SoftAtHome said CloudAtHome does not concentrate and duplicate users content in the cloud but that CloudAtHome works with both the suppliers’ backend systems and users’ in-home devices to stream the content.
