StarHub Deploys Broadpeak's CDN Servers
To add more flexibility to its network StarHub has deployed two content delivery solutions from Broadpeak. The two Broadpeak content delivery networks (CDN) and video-on-demand (VOD) servers has boost StarHub backend and enable the company to deliver content in a variety of formats, including Apple HTTP Live Streaming.
StarHub of Singapore implemented Broadpeak BkM100 Mediator content delivery network manager and BkS300 multiformat video streaming servers. Both solutions create a smarter infrastructure that help StarHub to reduce cost, use less storage and offer a more efficient solution.
Broadpeak BkM100 is a unified content delivery platform enabling network service providers to deliver video content across all 4 screens. It continuously monitors the popularity of content based on usage patterns then pushes popular content to the edge of the servers, and others in the larger central library. The BkS300 enables networks handle whatever format is coming through, whether is Microsoft Silverlight or Apple HTTP Live Streaming.
“Leveraging adaptive bitrate technologies, Broadpeak’s content delivery network solutions and video streaming servers ensure optimal viewing quality for end users while minimizing CAPEX and OPEX for content providers,” said Jacques Le Mancq, CEO, Broadpeak. As StarHub expands its video service offering to include on-demand, Broadpeak solutions will easily scale without sacrificing video quality.”
