Entropic Strengthen Position in Cable and Satellite Markets
Entropic has strengthen its position in the cable and satellite markets with the acquisition of Mobius Semiconductor, a producer of low power and high performance analog mixed-signal semiconductor solutions. Entropic with the addition of Mobius's high speed ADCs, DACs, ADPLLs, SERDES and proprietary Intellectual Property, has boost its product portfolio.
Under the terms of the transaction, Entropic acquired Mobius for approximately $13 million in cash plus employee equity-based incentives. Among the team joining Entropic through the acquisition are mixed-signal and digital signal processing veterans and Mobius' founders, Dr. Aaron Buchwald and Dr. Avi Madisetti. With this transaction, Entropic establishes a design center presence in Irvine, California.
Entropic is known throughout the world as a supplier of System-on-a-Chip (SoC) and Connectivity solutions for today's digital home and enabling Pay-TV operators to offer captivating whole-home entertainment solutions. The addition of the Mobius technology will enable Entropic to provide cable and satellite operators with solutions that encompass system designs that are low power, broadband and high-speed.
