The people at Fujitsu laboratories said they have come up with a solution that will make it easier for us to access and manage our digital content.  The marketing department hasn’t come up with a name for it yet, I will just call it, ‘the solution’.  Fujitsu said this with this solution you will be able to access files at home or in the cloud and be able to edit them from any mobile device.

The reason for this new solution said Fujitsu is to reduce the cost of cloud storage and to make it easier for us to access and manage our digital content on the go.

“Storing all of one’s data in the cloud storage is difficult, so there has been a need for a problem-free way of using a smart device to easily access, from anywhere, files that have been saved in storage at home.”

Fujitsu said this new remote access solution bypasses the old ways of accessing content on our PC at home while out of the home.  Just by selecting a file with a single tap on a smart device, you can start up your home PC from anywhere and access the file in the best way without difficulty.

For example, private photos or videos that are stored at home can be shown to friends or family that live far away, and Excel or Word files created and stored on a home PC can be accessed on a smart device and edited on the spot.

According to Fujitsu, in the future, a variety of senor log data, such as security logs from surveillance cameras, even inside the home, will be accumulated in large volumes, and by enabling access to that data from outside the home, this technology could be used for home monitoring services.

Fujitsu seeks to accelerate the realization of its vision for Human Centric Computing, which aims to bring about a world where the barriers between system and people are eliminated, where convenient services can be accessed without people even being aware of the systems that deliver them.

This new remote access technology should be available by the end of 2014, said Fujitsu.
