Vivint, Kwikset Offers Home Automation And Enhanced Home Security

Vivint has combined its home automation system with Kwitset SmartCode Signature Series locks to offer homeowners an enhanced home security solution. Homes with Vivint’s Home Connect can now integrate Kwikset’s Home Connect enabled locks to add automated security to their home automation platform.

Through this partnership, homeowners now have the ability monitor their front door and other areas of their home from any web-enabled mobile device or secure Internet connection while away from home.

Vivint’s home automation solution plus Kwikset’s Home Connect enabled locks can wirelessly communicate with other smart appliances/devices in the home such as lighting and temperature, seamlessly triggering homeowners' personal preferences from the minute they unlock their door.

The SmartCode lock with Home Connect features a unique, patented technology with the first one-touch locking motorized deadbolt on the market. Additional features include:

• Ability to override an electronic code with a traditional key
• SmartKey re-key technology, allowing homeowners to re-key their locks in seconds and negating the need to call an installer when a key is compromised
• Kwikset’s patented BumpGuard, which protects homeowners against “lock-bumping,” a technique commonly used by burglars during break-ins

Vivint’s home automation system connects the door locks with other security, convenience and energy management features through Z-Wave wireless protocol, giving customers a simple, fully integrated experience.
