TiVo Inc., the creator of and a leader in television services and advertising solutions for digital video recorders (DVRs), today announced it has entered into a strategic alliance with Best Buy Co., Inc. designed to transform the digital home entertainment experience. The alliance seeks to drive greater distribution of TiVo(R) products and its user experience, and to provide Best Buy with a digital platform in the home to strengthen its customer relationships.

DivX, a digital media company, today announced that it has released its flagship video software, DivX 7 for Windows, in Chinese for the China, Taiwan and Hong Kong markets. Now available at www.divx.com/zh-hans and www.divx.com zh-hant, the Simplified and Traditional Chinese language versions of DivX 7 for Windows allow Chinese consumers to create and play high-quality DivX(R) videos and DivX Plus HD video including high definition H.264/mkv files. DivX videos can be played on a range of DivX Certified(R) consumer electronics devices, including Blu-ray disc players, mobile phones, digital TVs or gaming consoles.

SoftAtHome, a company created by Orange to help service providers deliver convergent applications for the Digital Home, announced today a partnership with Anevia, a leading supplier of IPTV and Video on Demand (VoD) solutions. Under the partnership the two companies have integrated SoftAtHome Operating Platform running on Set Top Boxes (STB) with Anevia’s Video on Demand (VoD) back-end servers to provide telecommunication companies and service providers with the key components to deploy new video services.
