Over the last few years a lot have been said about Blackberry, most about their handset and how it has lost out to the iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and other Android based models. They are currently working on that along with plans to get Blackberry based systems in our homes as part of a connected home solution.
Its no secret that connected car solutions (infotainment) are moving just as fast as those for the connected home. QNX, a Blackberry subsidiary is at the cutting edge of the infotainment sector. This year at CES 2015 they unveiled another concept car (something they have been doing at CES for the last few years) based on the Maserati Quattroporte GTS sports sedan.
There are many things that make driving a car enjoyable and high on the list is its entertainment system and all its features. Also in the past, one of the first things we would do when we purchase a car is to change/upgrade the entertainment system. But, the new models coming off the assembly lines are very different from what they were in the past. Today’s cars are smarter and more connected in many ways.
The Car entertainment system has evolve over the years but at this week’s CE Show many demonstrations has shown that it is even going further – to what they called a connected Car. As in the connected home the connected Car will offer a new connected experience for car owners. QNX one of the companies behind these technologies has collaborated with leading car manufacturers (BMW, Audi and Toyota) to offer a new connected in-car infotainment solution.
