Now YouTube is on the mobile to TV streaming, the company announced on their blog that their work in progress is coming to fruition.  With the YouTube app for Android, you can find the video you would like to watch and stream it to you Google TV. The app plus your phone will behave just like your remote control, you will be able to pause, skip or scroll to the next video from your mobile or tablet - click the TV icon that appears, and the video will play instantly on your Google TV.

This has lead Sophos to form partnership with Ocean Blue to developed an antivirus software for smart TVs. The solution combines Sophos antivirus platform with Ocean Blue’s middleware for smart TVs and Set-top Boxes.

Lenovo K91 Smart TV Offers DTS Sound Quality

Lenovo has decided to launch its first smart TV in China with the support from DTS. The Televisions are based on Trident’s 3D Cinemascope technology which includes support to the latest online services such as Yahoo!, Rovi, VUDU, RoxioNow, Pandora, Flingo. The hardware includes Trident’s TV550 system-on-a-chip (SoC) and PNX5120/30 frame rate converter (FRC) to offer true cinematic experience by providing crystal clear 3D images.

Broadcom Launches OTT Media Player and MoCA 2.0 SoC Portfolio

broadcomBroadcom has launched a range of System-on-a-Chip (SoC) solutions for Hybrid TV and Over-the-Top (OTT) Media Players based on their BCM72xx chipset. According to Broadcom the chips features advance capabilities in processing power that will transform existing digital TVs into smart TVs. UK Retail Chain Dixons To Offer Logik Smart TVs With Onyx Browser

Oregon Networks, the developer of the Onyx media browser for IPTV devices has announced that Dixons of the UK will be using their Onyx media browser in Dixons Logik Smart TVs. The Onyx browser will be on the Logik 23’ LCD TV (L23IPTV), one of Dixons exclusive brands. The TVs are schedule to be available in time for the Christmas shopping, online at currys.co.uk and in outlets of Currys and PC world.

KIT Digital and LG Electronics In Smart TV Partnership

KIT digital and LG Electronics have signed a strategic partnership agreement.  Under the agreement, both companies will leverage each other’s technologies to develop and deploy a joint multiscreen over-the-top video (OTT) solution.  KIT will also provide content and professional services to the LG's Home Entertainment Division for its Smart TV platform.
