TiVo's Set-Top Box Roamio is Control4 Certified

TiVo has joined the list of hardware manufactures to partner with Control4 to allow users central management of their home’s automation and entertainment systems.  Starting with the Roamio range of TiVo’s set-top box (with DVR, multiscreen and streaming services) customers will be able to manage their TiVo system from within Control4, along with their lighting and other connected services.

Virgin Media Customers Get “Virgin TV Anywhere”

Virgin Media customers are in for a treat this Christmas; the company has launched its cloud-based entertainment service, “Virgin TV Anywhere”. The Virgin TV Anywhere service will allow Virgin customers to watch Cable via their smartphone or tablet using a downloaded app or via a browser. There are social functionalities integrated in the service that allows customers to comment on TV shows.

Virgin Media Launches TiVo and ‘superfast as standard' Broadband Services

virginmediaWith the Olympics coming to the UK this summer Virgin is gearing to launch its TiVo and ‘superfast as standard’ broadband this April. As they go through their infrastructure upgrade Virgin Media is now offering its customers speeds of up to 30Mb, 60Mb and 100Mb (which will soon be 120Mb). According to Virgin the different categories of digital TV services coming will help its customers take advantage of the new speeds being offered.

The Adobe Flash platform has come a long way since we first started using web animation. Even more astonishing is its role in facilitating in-home entertainment via the different devices. TiVo and Canal Digital Form Digital TV Partnership

Scandinavian broadband, TV and telephone provider Canal Digital- part of the Telenor Group has formed a strategic partnership with TiVo, the advance television service provider, in an effort to offer Nordic viewers some the most advance television services. Under the Agreement the TiVo services will be available to Telenor’s Canal Digital Direct-to-Home satellite customers in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.

Broadcom has announced that TiVo, the advance television service provider has selected Broadcom’s Bluetooth technology for a new remote.  The new QWERTY keyboard remote control will help TiVo customers to take full advantage of the application services available through its TiVo Premiere, TiVo HD and TiVo Services boxes. The new TiVo Slide QWERTY keyboard remote control is the first TiVo remote to feature Bluetooth, enabling comfortable text entry for search and discovery of content.

Best Buy To Sell Insignia Televisions With TiVo Built In

Best Buy and TiVo announced that Best Buy exclusive television brand Insignia will be shipping with TiVo software and advanced television services already built in.  By embedding the TiVo software into the televisions will give Insignia customers an intuitive user experience for accessing online content by utilizing TiVo’s non-DVR software and advance television software, said both companies.
