Lynx Technology, the new name for PacketVideo in North American and Europe has release Twonky 8.2, with IPv6, DIAL, audiobook support and cloud-based capabilities. Lynx said the new features added to Twonky 8.2 were in direct response to changing consumer preferences regarding media consumption in the connected home.
Developers of Twonky based solutions now have the option to integrate their services with the cloud. According to PacketVideo version 8 has a "cloud-enabled architecture that ensures optimal speed and flexibility". With the increaseing need for flexibility and connectivity PacketVideo said they want to accelerate the provivision of cloud services by service providers and manufacturers to their customers.
PacketVideo this week released TwonkyServer 6.0 and TwonkyServer 2.0 Two of the main softwares that form its Twonky connected home suite. They are the industry’s most popular connected home solutions with more than 3 million installations. The new versions offer more flexibility, interchangeable user interface and a faster scanning engine and well as some industry’s first.
