What Samsung did Next With SmartThings

It’s just over a year now that Samsung acquired SmartThings, and to show us what they have been doing with SmartThings since the acquisition, they were at IFA in Berlin. At the show, they launched an upgraded version of the SmartThings Hub with a new design and a more powerful processor to support video monitoring; now called the “Smarthub” and a range of sensors.  They have also used the opportunity to announce products for the UK connected homes.

Today at its developers conference the company announced new software release the will help developers create solutions for the connected health, smart wearable and connected home market. The company said it is expanding its domain from personal wellness to preventive healthcare service.

NOOK Samsung Galaxy Tab4 Coming In August

NOOK Media a subsidiary of Barnes & Noble has collaborated with Samsung Electronics America to offer NOOK’s reading software on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, 7-inch version.  As part of the partnership owners of the new “Samsung Galaxy NOOK” will have access to Barnes & Noble’s content, of more than three million books, leading magazines and newspapers. Customers will also have the option to buy the “Samsung Galaxy NOOK” or NOOK eReader (NOOK GlowLight).

Samsung Electronics and Samsung Digital Imaging Merged

Samsung Electronics and Samsung Digital Imaging are to merge today in a move to combine both companies specialisation; Samsung Electronics’ digital media and digital convergence technologies, and Samsung Digital Imaging’s digital cameras and imaging technology and to improve market leadership. The merger was approved by shareholders in February of this year.
