ViewSonic debuts the world first dual-boot Windows7 home premium and Google Android 1.6 tablet PC at this years IFA show in Germany.  The Viewpad said ViewSonic offers the best of both worlds, because Viewpad 100 offers the latest version of Microsoft Windows and the flexibility of Android.  With Viewpad 100 have access to USB connectivity, Adobe Flash support, the ability to create presentation and Word documents and view output via its mini VGA.

LG to Integrate Plex Software in Netcast Connected TVs and Blu-rays

Plex announced today that the CE (Consumer Electronics) giant is to integrate Plex’s open media management platform into its Netcast™ enabled HDTVs and Blu-ray entertainment systems. HP has release a wireless PC to TV connector; like the Asus WiCast, the HP Wireless TV Connect allows users to stream wireless 1080p HD multimedia content from your laptop to your TV. The adapters are powered the USB port of the Laptop and simply work by connecting the PC adapter to the Laptop computer and connecting the TV adapter to the HDTV via HDMI, without the need to install any software. The HP Wireless TV Connect fully supports protected content such as Blu-ray and DVD movies.

Yamaha Launches New 3D-Ready DivX Certified Blu-ray Disc Players

Yamaha and DivX today made a joint announcement of the worldwide release of a range of 3D-Ready DivX Certified Blu-ray Disc Players.  Both companies said these new 3D-ready players bring the best in visual quality and full-featured media capabilities, enabling stunning playback of full 1080p DivX Plus HD video using the MKV container.  First to market is the BD-S1067 (in Europe), with other models for North America and other areas coming later.

HDI Dune launches a new HD home media center for today’s connected homes. The HDI Dune Pro Blu-ray player features a new technology platform that allows it to be integrated into a connected home environment, which allows it to be monitored and controlled along with other appliances within the home.  According to HDI Dune the HDI Dune Home Technologyis a collaborative effort between them and 4Home, that allows home monitoring, media management, and control of all networked cameras, thermostats, lights, etc. from the television.

Coming this September is the Asus WiCast EW2000, a PC to TV connectivity kit. Developed on WHDI (Wireless Home Digital Interface) technology, the WiCast kit allow you to project 1080p high definition content from your PC (notebook, netbook or desktop) onto a television or LCD Monitor. The kit can transmit images up to a distance of 33feet, with no noticeable latency (less than 1ms).  The adapters will come as a set (HD video transmitter and receiver) in a compact consumer friendly design, and will interface to the PC and TV. In addition the adapters are powered the PC’s USB ports for ease of use and making the solution highly portable for use with laptops or netbooks.

Asus is to launch a new HD wireless connector called the WiCast EW2000- WiCast for short.  The device is based on WHDI (Wireless Home Digital Interface) technology developed by Amimon, a developer of wireless HDTV semiconductor solutions.  The WiCast is design to enable households and business to project whatever is on a PC (desktop, Laptop or Notebook) screen onto a television or LCD Monitor screen wirelessly.
