eMeter Completes EnergyIP Integration with CPS Energy's SAP IS-U EhP5

eMeter has announced that it successfully completed the integration of its eMeter EnergyIP platform with CPS Energy's SAP IS-U EhP5 system. This integration enables CPS Energy, the largest municipally owned utility in the United States with a 1.1 million meter service territory in San Antonio, TX, to provide its customers with real-time energy usage information and enhanced metering services. It also represents the first integration in the world between a Meter Data Usage System (MDUS) and SAP's recently released IS-U EhP5 system.

KIT Digital and LG Electronics In Smart TV Partnership

KIT digital and LG Electronics have signed a strategic partnership agreement.  Under the agreement, both companies will leverage each other’s technologies to develop and deploy a joint multiscreen over-the-top video (OTT) solution.  KIT will also provide content and professional services to the LG's Home Entertainment Division for its Smart TV platform.

STMicroelectronics Reveals Details of Broadband Set-Top Box Chip, Orly

STMicroelectronics today release details of is forthcoming set-top box system-on-chip solution - codenamed Orly. The chip according to STMicroelectronics is part of its largest-generation of home entertainment high-performance platform. Created using the ARM Cortex-A9 processor which offers market-leading energy efficiency and best-in-class security features, along with support for a wide variety of open-source environments.  Set-top Boxes developed with the chip said ST will act as a hub "connecting all our devices and allowing the greatest user experience, such as 3D program guides and full motion 3DTV, Over-the-Top video and gaming from 3rd-parties".

Etisalat Selected SoftAtHome and Huawei End-to-End IPTV Solution

Etisalat has selected SoftAtHome and Huawei jointly developed turnkey end-to-end IPTV solution. The solution combines SoftAtHome client software platform SoftAtHome Operating Platform (SOP) together with Huawei turnkey end‐to‐end IPTV, OTT and Hybrid video solutions.  The solution is aimed at Operators to help them quickly deploy services for the Digital Home. Etisalat will use it to deploy its new multi-play service ‘eLife’.

Vestel Launched First Bittorrent Certified Smart TV

Vestel the manufacturer of digital televison and BitTorrent have join forces to create the world's first BitTorrent Certified Digital TV. The television was on show at this year’s IFA show in Berlin. Vestel said the new BitTorrent Certified TV will enable consumers to find, play and share all types of personal media, independently produced content and internet files directly on their TV.
