Microsoft Ergonomic Arc Touch Mouse Coming This Christmas

arc-mouseMicrosoft has release a new mouse, which they say is design for the mobile lifestyle. The new mouse is called the Arc Touch Mouse, and offers ergonomic flexibility: it flattens or Arc when you want it to and features Microsoft’s touch scroll technology for easy navigation.  The Arc Touch Mouse will not be available until Christmas in the US (pre-order at Amazon.com) and full availability by January 2011. The expected sale Retail price is $69.95 (US).

Ergonomic Design and Flexibility
Many of us user our mouse with a mouse mat and hand rest, to provide arc support for our wrest. The Arc Touch Mouse provides the hand rest as part of the device. With a simple touch of your finger it arches with a soft area for your wrest.

Touch Scrolling
The new Arc Touch Mouse touch scrolling allows for easy scrolling, with a simple flick of your finger. The mouse uses a capacitive sensing technique and sensor pads. The sensor strip corresponds to each position and velocity change to give users accurate, controlled scrolling no matter how fast or slow the movement.

The finger might need time to get use the sensitivity of the strip to manage the scrolling. You move your finger slowly on the strip for controlled slowing and quick flick for hyperfast scrolling, and tap to stop. The strip offers a three tap functionality: page up, page down and the middle click area, which is reprogrammable for whatever mouse function you need.

Mobility
The Arc Touch Mouse flexibility gives it the edge over other mice, with its BlueTrack Technology you can use it on virtually any surface. It will not bulk up your bag and with two AAA batteries you can get up to six months battery life. It also offers two-color battery life indicators which let you know when the power is running low.
