NetAmerica an Alliance of small telecom services providers has selected Ericsson’s 4G LTE (Long-term Evolution) Mobile Broadband Router as it choice device for providing 4G services.  The solution was made possible through a technology partnership between both organization last year.  The router will be marketed by NetAmerica as the Uniport Home Gateway. As a multi-access device Uniport facilitate Voice (VOIP), Data and multi-media services to households.

The Digital Home refers to a residence where different devices are connected through a computer network – it is considered a network of consumer electronics, mobile and computer devices that cooperate transparently to simplify usability in the home. The Digital Home facilitates the automatic or semi-automatic control of lighting, doors and windows, and security, surveillance systems and control of home entertainment systems. Intel, Entropic and SMC Networks announced plans to collaborate on a new generation of DOCSIS 3.0 data gateway with MoCA 2.0 for service providers.  The partnership between the three businesses will leverage the power of Intel’s Puma 5 family of DOCSIS 3.0 cable modems, SMC’s expertise in producing advanced DOCSIS data gateways and Entropic’s complete MoCA 2.0 silicon and software solution.

Entropic Communications and Zoran Corporation have announced that both companies will be collaborating on a new MoCA (Multimedia over Coax) 2.0 Set-top box reference platform. The platform will help to speed up the development of MoCA 2.0-enabled IP-based set-top-boxes as service providers move to IP gateway/client architectures in the home.

Intel and Entropic Commnications have announced plans to develop the industry first advanced video gateway and client set-top box reference designs.  Both companies will combine they respective technologies, Intel with the Intel Atom CE4200 processor and Entropic's MoCA (Multimedia over Coax) 2.0 solution.  Both companies said the solution will help service providers deliver new services and the emerging category of video gateway applications.Intel said the reference design will offer OEM a seamless upgrade from MoCA 1.1 products to the more powerfull powerful MoCA 2.0 architecture.
