Intel Security a division of Intel has launched new security solution for the smart grid sector, called Intel Security Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP). Intel said CIP is the result of extensive industry surveys among smart grids executives and a joint development in collaboration with the Department of Energy, Texas, Wind River and Texas Tech University. The solution works to protect today's smart grids from cyber and other IT related attacks and offers the added benefit of being able to work with legacy and new smart grid infrastructure.

With a mixture of education and security solutions both companies want to help us to add additional layer of security to support our lifestyle.

Samsung has partnered with McAfee to add virus protection to its new home media player called, Samsung HomeSync.  The Android-base device can store up to 1TB of digital content, enough space for a standard home.  HomeSync is due in shops from the beginning of October and will come with McAfee VirusScan pre-installed.  Samsung said the partnership is to help protect and its customer’s digital content from the growing range of Android-based threats.
