Amdocs has launch two eHealth solutions at this year’s 4G World. The cloud based solutions targets service providers who want to enter the ehealth market, by providing in-house management and monitoring of the elderly and chronically ill. Both solutions “Home Health monitoring” and “Aging in Place” help healthcare providers and government to reduce the cost of healthcare by allowing easy access to patients and family members that don’t need to be in hospital.
 

SoftAtHome has joined the band of solution venders offering a cloud platform. At this year’s IBC show SoftAtHome launched the CloudAtHome solution for operators and service providers.  The new SOP based solution allows service providers to support consumer change in digital lifestyle.  At the core is the flexibility that allows users to access content on which ever of the three screens (mobile, TV and PC) they choose.

Cloud Engines has launched a mobile focus version of their PogoPlug range called Pogoplug Mobile. Schedule for general release next month; Pogoplug Mobile offers a new look with an emphasis on ease of use and mobility.  It is optimized for Android and Apple’s iOS based devices; and offers the flexibility to share and access your photos, music, movies and other digital content from anywhere and anytime.

Netgem has launched a new mobile TV solution for service providers. The new cloud solution will give users the flexibility to access their television from any screen, whether PCs, Tablets or smartphone. The Cloud platform is a software suite that bringing the cloud into the home by transforming the Set-top box into a multimedia server and connected devices into clients.

Verizon is in another grid partnership, this time it is with eMeter, an application provider to the utility industry.  Both companies have announced their collaborative effort to provide a cloud base smart meter data management solution to utility companies.  The solution will be offered through Verizon’s IP Network by eMeter smart meter data management platform, offering utilities the peace of mind that their data will be secure and reliably delivered.

Building on its move into the digital home Acer is set to offer a cloud computing-enabled desktop, codenamed Acer Revo RL100. The new desktop will have the Acer clear.fi, a recently released connected home solution. The company said, of the 70 million netbooks, desktops and mobile phones they are planning to ship next year 10 – 20 percent will have Acer Clear.fi integrated.
