AppleGone are the days when a computer power is judge by the size of its case. Once upon a time when you need a powerful computer you would go out and buy the biggest mother board, a big case to fit it in and a big PSU (Power Supply Unit) to run it all; thankfully this is not the practice anymore. Thanks to Moors Law, Apple is able to give us a high performance computer in the form of the Mac Mini.

The new company will focus on home/building automation and remote control products and markets. They have also developed a suite of ZigBee based long-range, multi-channel remote control and receivers.

HP Cloud Aware and Web Connected Printer

HP has launched the HP ePrintCenter solutions along with an upgraded version of the HP Photosmart Premium part of its popular e-All-in-One web connected printers. This new model has all the features of the previous models plus a host of user solutions to make it easy to print you documents and photos from anywhere. This new HP Photosmart, according to HP is Cloud aware, meaning you can access documents on the web and you can access the printer from the web and print. It is the first printer that is able to talk to Google cloud without going through a PC.

T-Mobile UK ICD Vega 15-inch Tegra Android Tablet

The ICD (innovative Converged Devices) 15-inch Vega – touchscreen is schedule to launch in the UK this year.  The Android based gadget is to change the way we schedule and manage family appointments and keep in touch with each other.  We were given a sneak preview of it at this year’s CES, according to T-Mobile UK, who is collaborating with ICD to build the Vega; the Vega will be the family hub that will manage all household appointment and calendar events.

Asus Alternative to iPad The Eee Pad

Other electronic suppliers are musling in on Apples Pad market.  This is the Asus Eee Pad an alternative to the Apple’s iPad. Eee Pad will run Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system, and, unlike the iPad, will feature an integrated webcam and support for Flash video technology. It will be available with a 10in or 12in display, and is expected to start at around $399 (£275) when it goes on sale early next year.

Acer Debutes eReader LumiRead and Clear.fi Media Sharing

Acer has joined the eBook readers market with LumiRead.  The new gadget is part of the clear.fi solution a connected home initiative to allow for simpler sharing and reading of digital content in and outside the home.  The LumiRead eBook reader is pack full of features, such as changeable storage card and 3G wireless connections.  It is DLNA compliant, therefore capable to access Acer clear.fi and share contents like eBooks and audio-books.

Toshiba Reveals Windows and Google Android Tablet: Slate

The General Manger of digital products at Toshiba - Jeff Barney, said the company is planning to launch a tablet PC called “Slate”. Currently Toshiba is looking at a veriety of form factors, including a 10-inch dual-screen with Microsoft Windows. In addition to Microsoft Windows 7 there will be a Google mobile Android operating system.
