Marmitek today released a new HDMI 3D switch that allows you received videos content from up to five sources. The connect420 can connect to 5 HDMI devices to your TV with just one cable. The Connect420 supports other standards such as DVI, HDCP, CEC, Lipsync, EDID standards, Deep Colour (36bit), Dolby True HD & DTS HD in addition to 3D. The active switcher is also interruption-free as a result of solid metal, interference-free.

Opera SDK 2.9 Adds Support for Broadcom BCM7420 Set-top Box Chipset

Earlier this month Opera announced that Sony will be selling their Bravia TVs with the Opera browser embedded, today Opera said their latest browser will support Broadcom’s Set-top Box SoC chipset BCM7420 as default.  Other platforms such as cable and satellite which include the BCM7400, BCM7405, and BCM7335 and next-generation 40nm devices such as the BCM7231 and BCM7425 are also supported.

Lantiq Introduces XWAY HNX Family of ITU-T G.hn Chips

Lantiq, a chip manufacturer for broadband and home networking solutions has develop a family of chips supporting the ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union) G.hn standard.  The new Lantiq XWAY HNX (comprises of XWAY STREAM, XWAY HARMONY, XWAY PROBE and XWAY PATH FINDER) has been developed for manufacturers of smart home systems using any combination of cable, phone and power wiring.

Wi3 in partnership with Entropic Communications as developed the Wi3Port, a digital home Powerline Ethernet solution that allows you to connect your home devices via Wi-Fi, Wired and Wideband. Debuted at CES, the solution is a combination of the Wi-Fi Direct specification, the MoCA IPTV/Smart TV standard enclosed in their in-wall wallport patented design. MIPS is back this year At CES to show us how far they have reached with their Android work. The company has unveiled a new SmartCE (Connected Entertainment) platform. SmartCE is designed to provide a connected experience with integrated support for Home Jinni ConnecTV application, Adobe Flash Platform for TV, Android, Skype, social media and other platforms. Qualcomm debuts Shifta, a media shifting service at CES 2011, one of the technologies we highlight would be debuting there. The Skifta service gives users the ability to control and play their music, photos and videos on connected devices at home, at a friend's house, at work or on any WiFi network without syncing or side loading media to the phone. It is also certified to stream digital content to DLNA certified devices.
