HAI Releases New Snap-Link Mobile With Home Theater Extender

haiYour home Audio/Video system can now be controlled through the same HAI Snap-Link software. The new version of Snap-Link when used in conjunction with its Home Theater Extender (HTX) will allow you to use your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch (iOS devices) as a remote control. Also available is the HAI’s HTX2 mobile designer software, a tool that allows you to customize the user interface of your remote control – the different devices.

Virgin Media Launches TiVo and ‘superfast as standard' Broadband Services

virginmediaWith the Olympics coming to the UK this summer Virgin is gearing to launch its TiVo and ‘superfast as standard’ broadband this April. As they go through their infrastructure upgrade Virgin Media is now offering its customers speeds of up to 30Mb, 60Mb and 100Mb (which will soon be 120Mb). According to Virgin the different categories of digital TV services coming will help its customers take advantage of the new speeds being offered.

Vixs has collaborated with Axentra to port Axentra’s HipServ NAS Media Software to XCode 4208 media processor. As one of the leading digital media access software, HipServ enables consumer to access their digital media from a wide range of devices such as Android and Apple’s iOS based mobile devices.  The collaboration will allow OEMs to shorten the development of NAS (Network Attached Storage) base solutions that offers video transcoding.

Hydro One Selects IBM Telvent For Smart Grid Project

IBM and its Business Partner Telvent announced that they have been selected by Hydro One, the largest distributor of electricity in Ontario (Canada), for a new smart grid project that will help transform the province's electrical system. Together, the companies will run simulations and tests to determine the smart grid technologies that have the potential to improve power efficiency and reliability.

Vivint Releases Additional Secondary Control Panel

Customers of the Vivint home automation solution can now install more secondary panel (up to four).  Vivint said they have release the panels so that customer can have increased access to their system’s functions through these secondary panels. The touch-screen panels can be placed strategically throughout the home, giving customers additional points of access.

Telstra Launched Connected Home Services in Australia
