ADB Carbo Powers VOO New HD Set-top Box

carboVOO has selected ADB’s (Advanced Digital Broadcast) ADB-2840C high definition set-top box with the Carbo platform to upgrade its television services.  The Belgium based broadband and cable television services provider said they needed to upgrade its TV services to include high definition.  Key to the solution is the Carbo software, an award winning and international recognized pay-tv user interface.

Many of us who grew up watching cartoons such as the Jetsons or science fictions movies like Star Trek, would at some time or the other ask ourselves; what if all the appliances in our home could talk to each other? Some of us have investigated the idea but was deter by its complexity and some have achieved some success.  What we were asking is; can we automate our home? And, the answer to this is yes, if you can afford it. As things are today we have moved on from asking about home automation to asking: How can I get my home connected?

NetAmerica Offers Ericsson 4G LTE Mobile Broadband Router

NetAmericaNetAmerica an Alliance of small telecom services providers has selected Ericsson’s 4G LTE (Long-term Evolution) Mobile Broadband Router as it choice device for providing 4G services.  The solution was made possible through a technology partnership between both organization last year.  The router will be marketed by NetAmerica as the Uniport Home Gateway. As a multi-access device Uniport facilitate Voice (VOIP), Data and multi-media services to households.
 

Verizon Joins Z-Wave Alliance

Verizon has solidified its commitment in the home automation and monitoring market by joining the Z-Wave Alliance.  They will now play a bigger role in promoting the Z-Wave technology and have a direct say in its direction. Verizon has also indicated their interest in making their set-top box solution wireless; therefore, joining the Z-Wave Alliance is one step in that direction.

ThingWorx Joins Carnegie Mellon and IBM in Pennsylvania Smart Infrastructure Project

AT&T Enters Home Monitoring and Automation Market With "AT&T Digital Life"

AT&T initially indicated that they were planning to enter the home monitoring and automation market, has made it official. They will be unveiling it at this year’s GSMA Connected House Congress in Barcelona. The new home monitoring platform for service providers – is called “AT&T Digital Life”. The IP web based solution will give service providers the capabilities to offer their customers customizable, web-based home automation, energy and security services.
