Lantiq Introduces XWAY HNX Family of ITU-T G.hn Chips

Lantiq, a chip manufacturer for broadband and home networking solutions has develop a family of chips supporting the ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union) G.hn standard.  The new Lantiq XWAY HNX (comprises of XWAY STREAM, XWAY HARMONY, XWAY PROBE and XWAY PATH FINDER) has been developed for manufacturers of smart home systems using any combination of cable, phone and power wiring.

NuVo to Showcase Renovia Home Audio Solution ISE 2011

NoVo Technology has announced that they will be taking the Freestanding Renovia to ISE show in Amsterdam this year.  Renovia is a whole home audio system based on powerline technology, as well as the Music Port Elite (MPS4-E) an upgrade from to NuVo’s successful Music Port Server (MPS4).  As a multiroom audio solution the Renovia whole home audio system delivers high-quality audio and metadata from multiple sources to multiple rooms through use of the home’s existing electrical wiring.

Introducing Yahoo Broadcast Interactivity TV Platform

At this month’s CE show Yahoo! Debuts a new connected television platform geared towards both viewers and TV programs creators, to enable them to offer more interactive contents to viewers. So far HSN, ABC, Showtime and CBS are partners with Yahoo! And talks are going on with brand advertisers (like Microsoft, Ford and Mattel) to come on board. Content producers are expected to pilot some of the solutions as early as the first half of this year.

Lenovo Creates Digital home and Mobile Internet Business Unit

Lenovo has announced the creation of a separate business unit that will cater for the Digital home and Mobile internet solutions. The new unit is called the Mobile Internet and Digital Dome division, and will also responsible for newly formed categories such as smart TV,  cloud computing  and the digital home, as well as the applications and services that will run on the devices.

European Home Automation Markets to Reach €228M in 2015

Research done by Frost & Sullivan has found that developments in adjacent sectors have created opportunities for Home Automation to Reach a wider audience. Also, from an estimated earning of €164.3 million in 2010; they estimated that the home automation market will reach €228.7 million by 2015.  The research highlights the effect of tablet PCs, smartphones and how other technology advances has created innovative and affordable systems that reach a more extensive customer base.
