Buffalo Technology Adds LinkStation V-Series to NAS Family

Buffalo Technology LinkStation network storage family has been extended with the addition of the V-Series range of Network Attach Storage (NAS) solution. The new line consists of LinkStation Pro. LinkStation Pro Duo and LinkStation Quad. As Standard there is connectivity for the Apple range of handheld devices, automatic backup and the ability to access your LinkStation from anywhere in the world from a internet connection.

Sony Launched Internet TV with Google TV Android Platform

Like Logitech Sony has launched their incarnation of a Google TV solution in Sony Internet TV. Sony has released four models of the television plus on Blu-ray disc player to complement the range. To accompany the TV is a handheld RF QWERTY keyboard for easy browsing and typing. The screen sizes starts at 24-inch for $599.99 to 46-inch for 1,399.99 recommended.

Logitech Released Logitech Revue with Google TV

Logitech has delivered on their promise they made in the first half of this year when Google launched its Google TV platform. At the time Logitech was highlighted as one of the key partners to the project and they promised to follow up with the release of a range of product for Google TV. Sigma work on Android for the home has begun the gear fruit announced that DViCO has selected their SMP8656 Secure Media Processor for its TVIX Xroid A1 Android based connected media player. The TVIX Xroid A1 is DViCO first Android-based Over-the-Top (OTT) media player and is part of the company’s plan to develop an Android-based  product line to support the growing Connected Home market. The TVIX Xroid A1is the first Android connected media player on the market to use Sigma's SMP8656 media processor.

British Gas and AlertMe Agreed Strategic and Commercial Partnership

AlertMe has signed a commercial and strategic partnership with British Gas, one the UK’s leading utility supplier last month as it went through a second round of investing, raising a total of £15 million. British Gas has invested £5.7 million for a 15.96 percent stake in AlertMe, making it a key investor along with VantagePoint Venture Partners, Index Ventures, Good Energies and SET Venture Partners. British Gas’s stake will give them a seat on the board of AlertMe.

Marmitek has released an upgrade to its GigaVideo800 HDMI wireless transmitter to the GigaVideo820 with the latest in DHMI technology. While others are just introducing wireless HDMI, Marmitek said they have been offering wireless HDMI solutions in Europe from April of 2009.  The new GigaVideo820 supports a range of resolution up to 1080i and 1080p and fully supports the HDCP standard, which prevent the illegal coping of digital content. It is now available for a recommended retail price of 399eur or £359.

IBM Offers Smart Cloud Solutions to Connected Home Market

IBM is showing its interest in the connected home by developing a host of cloud services and solutions for the connected home market.  At this year’s IFA show in Germany they showcased prototypes of different cloud solutions and services that they can give to connected device manufacturers and related services providers. They said there is a lot to gain from using a common services delivery platform based on industry standards.

AMIMON Unveils the WHDI Stick for Easy Wireless PC to TV Connectivity

According to Amimon Consumer Electronic manufacturers will bring a new wireless PC to HDTV solution out next year. It is called the WHDI Stick and is currently being demonstrated at the CEATEC Show in Japan. The WHDI Stick is a small version of the recently released Asus WiCast and HP Wireless TV, which allows you to stream whatever is on your tablet, laptop, netbook or desktop PC onto a television wirelessly.
